Hospice is a philosophy of care, not a specific place. It is for any person facing a terminal illness when curative treatment is no longer effective. Hospice focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for the patient and their loved ones — with care available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Anyone can refer a patient — a family member, friend, physician, or facility. To be admitted, a patient must agree to treatment aimed at comfort rather than cure and have a life-limiting illness certified by a physician.
Hospice provides care to patients with any terminal or end-stage diagnosis. Our team will gladly help you determine eligibility during a free in-home assessment.
Hospice care is provided wherever the patient calls home — a private residence, the home of a relative or friend, a long-term care facility, or a nursing home.
Hospice care is typically covered by Medicare, Medi-Cal, and most private insurance plans. We will verify your coverage and explain your options at no cost and with no obligation.
